Five Tips on how to save money for Travel: Part 6

Tip 1 to save money – Minimize car use
If you have a car, seek to reduce gasoline consumption or, failing that, organize yourself with someone who has similar routes to yours to share the cost. And if there are possibilities to move on public transport, much better.

Tip 2 to save money – SELL your car
This is a piece of advice that I ignored and although I do not usually regret the things I do or do not do, I am aware that this was undoubtedly one of the worst decisions I made during the last 2 years.

I was maintaining a car that was one of the worst financial cancers for my pocket , although it was not such an old car, it had many problems and that generated unforeseen expenses at least every 6 months.

So if you have a problem car, SELL IT NOW!

Tip 3 to save money – Beware of ant expenses.
Chewing gums, cigars, water bottles, soft drinks, coffee, cookies, chips and a list of etceteras that added to the month can represent up to 500 pesos or more.

They do not believe me? Do the account and do not deny me that every stop at a convenience store will cost at least 50 pesos.

Tip 4 to save money – Learn how to hunt deals.
Subscribe to airline and lodging newsletters; compare and analyze prices before making the final decision.

This advice applies in the same way for purchases of daily life.

Tip 5 to save money
Finally, do not forget the advice # 1: Commit yourself to your goal, sacrifice a little now and enjoy it later.

The road is not easy, but I promise it’s worth it.
