Five Tips on how to save money for Travel: Part 3

Tip 1 to save money – Forget about gifts for social commitments.
This point can be half controversial for some, but believe me that in the end it saves you a lot of money. Your family and true friends will understand the situation.

When we started with our savings plan, we talked to all of them and we told them … I’m sorry, but this year there will be neither Christmas gifts nor birthday gifts. No one gave us an appointment, but on the contrary, they always motivated us to continue on the right path.

Tip 2 to save money – Take advantage of gifts.
This is possibly the most brazen advice on the list and may not be very consistent with the previous advice, but it works perfectly.

I will explain it to you with an example: I had a group of friends at work who were practically my sisters; the tradition of each year in the birthdays of each one, was to give us at least 200 pesos; in such a way that on every birthday he received at least 1,200 pesos, although it was almost always more; obviously that money went directly to my savings account.

So if you know someone who is going to give you a gift, ask for it in cash.

Tip 3 to save money – Leave the vacation for later.
Let’s say you’re saving for a summer vacation in Cancun or a Caribbean cruise, then concentrate on that and forget, even for a while, of the Easter holidays or that weekend express trip.

I know it’s not easy to stay still, but your pocket will thank you and in the end it will be worth the sacrifice. We stayed 2 years without going on a trip, so we could travel without a return date.

Tip 4 to save money – Prepare your own food.
This advice is especially for those who work all day and always eat on the street.

Cooking at home will always be the cheapest option; It is also the most tedious, but again, it is worth the effort. Get organized and prepare your meals with time.

Tip 5 to save money – Take care of services
If you are independent and live on your own, remember and pay attention to the scolding your mother gave you when you were a child: Turn off the light! If nobody is watching television, do not leave it on! Shut the key!

Moms are always right, the day we go to live alone we realize the importance of taking care of services and especially our money.
